Dr. Leslie Laws

Qualifications and Education

In the past 12 years, I have attained my license as a LPC counselor and LPC supervisor thus fulfilling a lifetime goal.  I have been involved in counseling children of all ages.  My counseling experience has been vast and enriching in that I have been actively involved in counseling adolescent children and special education children.  Since 2000, I have expanded my experience by counseling couples and families in crisis.  After experiencing some adversities in my own family, God has placed me in a situation in which I am able to help others in crisis.  I have served on numerous occasions as a crisis counselor for support groups for the Dallas Suicide and Crisis Center.  My life experiences along with the doctoral work in family studies and continued education through the Prepare and Enrich program have influenced me to pursue my goal of having a private practice.  During the day, I serve as Lead Counselor for a high school in the metroplex in which we focus on helping our students excel emotionally and academically.  I love what I do, and I especially enjoy helping my students receive scholarships to the colleges of their choice.  Below I have listed my education experience and certificate:

  • Ph.D. in Family Studies-Texas Woman's University
